Evening settles over the Presidential Range. The last gold light breaks low on the horizon behind two rounded peaks, while the sky deepens to green and teal. The ridges are built from heavy palette knife strokes in umber and olive, with small flecks of ochre catching the final light.
This is a study: a smaller, looser piece painted while working out the light for my Presidential Range series. It has a few minor surface marks, which are reflected in the price. It’s a good way to start collecting the series.
