Welcome to my Studio
When I was growing up, art wasn't an academic choice; it was part of the atmosphere. I spent endless hours watching my grandmother paint, observing how her hand—which was normally so shaky—became rock steady the moment a brush touched the canvas. Her influence planted a love for the oil medium and the landscape early, though it lay dormant for decades.
Returning to the easel after such a long break wasn't about rediscovering skill; it was about reclaiming a connection to stillness. Today, my practice is defined by a focus on "at-bats." It’s a deliberate dedication to consistency—a promise to show up, regardless of the output. This mindset, rooted in the White Mountains that first inspired me, values the daily practice over the grand finale.
The goal of this site is to provide you with a look behind the curtain at the brushes, the palette, and my pursuit of Contemporary Tonalism.
When you step into my studio, the first thing you’ll notice isn’t the finished work on the walls—it’s the quiet. This is where the world slows down, and where the atmospheric stillness of my oil paintings begins.
I wanted to create a space on this site that feels just like a studio visit. It’s not about formal art essays; it’s about the process of finding light in the shadows and the emotional resonance of a landscape holding its breath. Each item I share here is a piece of this quiet exploration.
