The last light drains from the sky in a slow gradient, from deep navy down through cerulean to a pale teal-gold glow, as the first faint stars appear. Below, a dense thicket in sage, olive, rust and amber closes in around a shadowed clearing. It’s a small, moody study of twilight, painted to explore how the sky turns at the end of the day.
Its companion, Stars Over the River Bend, shows another starry evening in the woods.
